Former WSB news anchor Warren Savage avoided trial on cocaine charges after completing a drug treatment program, according to the AJC. Savage walked away from his morning anchor job after he’d repeatedly failed to show up for his 2:30am shift. His colleagues at WSB frequently had to roust him from his slumber to get him to the set on time. The behavior dumbfounded his colleagues, and foreshadowed his subsequent drug arrests.
Savage left WSB in September 2005. By August 2006, he was posing for his first booking photo.
Rodney Ho interviewed Savage after he quit WSB, but prior to his arrests. First busted in Gwinnett Co. for marijuana possession, Savage kinda disappeared following a cocaine arrest in Forsyth County. Turns out, he was in the treatment program. Somehow, Ho of the AJC ended up with a bunch of Savage’s possessions. Ho describes thusly:
Soon after he was arrested, I received a call from a guy who had some of his possessions, which had been confiscated from a storage bin. He wanted to get rid of them. I still have some of Warren’s items. Unfortunately, at the time, I had no clue how to get a hold of Warren to give them to him. It’s mostly awards and photographs of him and friends/family but also included some receipts for items he pawned off such as computers and a guitar. So Warren—if you want your personal effects, contact me…
One suspects that Mr. Savage will be strongly encouraged to submit to an AJC interview before re-acquiring his stuff.

I haven’t heard from Warren yet! The guy who had Warren’s stuff was going to trash it all so I decided to keep some of it. Still no word from Warren so I’m not sure how badly he wants his old photos and plaques. And no, I won’t make it a quid pro quo. If he wants his stuff, I won’t require an interview, but I’ll ask for one if he does contact me.

Hello. I was a big fan of Mr. Savage’s. I thought he was a great reporter. If there was a way I could speak with to find out what went wrong, that would be great. I just want to let Mr. Savage know that he should not let this stop him and to keep moving.

Hello, I am a good friend of Warrens and he will know me as the cake man being as I made some cakes for him in the past. I met warren a little more than 8 years ago and we became very close friends and I was very disturbed when I heard about what was happening with him. I have kept him in my prayers and still to this day consider him a great human being and person. If there is anyway that he can get this message, I would truly like to reconnect with someone I called a true brother and do what I can if any to reinstall faith with him that someone still cares about him. Warren I still have the cd with your groves on it so contact a brother and lets crank up the Mirages again.

Savage was my room-mate in the Marines (Okinawa) and I am sorry to hear of the past problems. The Savage I know is still a Marine at heart and will defeat these issues head on. I am praying for you buddy.

I always thought the guy was odd. He went to great lengths to hide a relationship he had with a white female producer because he said he didn’t want it to hurt his “street cred” with his people. Bizarre.

Warren savage Is a piece of shit. I met him in jail ,and gave him a place to live when he got out of jail. He fooled judge bagel with urine from a 4 year old . And let him live in my house for 18 months he never paid rent and thought the world owed him something . If you don’t believe me me check out forsyth count records. don’t let him fool ya……

I went to boot camp with Warren Savage and stayed in touch with him throughout the years. My last contact with him was June 2005. If anyone knows his whereabouts, please reply here with your email address. Semper Fidelis! Jesionka….he will know this name. Once a Marine, Always a Marine! I am thankful that he has made it through the rehab process. I look forward to talking with my friend.

There’s alot of secrets Warren Savage is hiding. Some know about them as they were left in the dust being used and manipulated by him……lots of anger, repressed “feelings,” lying, stealing, pretty much anything you can think of. He Thinks he’s a great actor. I heard one of the women he used along the way exposed ALOT of his secrets and lies……He never had a college degree, dishonorably discharged from Marines as he went AWOL on a drug binge in Puerto Rico and alot more.
Look him up on MugShots.com. He has a penchant for smacking women around. He needs the help that only Jesus can give, ’cause he is fast trackin’ it to Hell.
