FWIW, the Red Cross now recommends remaining in one’s vehicle and attempting to drive away from any approaching tornado. If driving away is impossible, the Red Cross recommends staying in one’s vehicle. This is at odds with the recommendation of the NWS, which still advises seeking shelter in a ditch.

It’s has always amazed me that the videographer has to do all of the THINKING on a BIG SPOT NEWS story along with trying to capture the moment……..

well damn. watching that video like it was in my own viewfinder… i’m thinking… “Hello Emmy!”. Later… in the hospital, i’d be thinking… “wow… that was really dumb.” (considering that this and any photog… who shot something like this… would be “thanked” and then sent to a press conference on tornado safety)
Huzzah.

My “time to go” meter went off several times before they got in the car…Wonder if they got more than 1:15 to tell what they saw?
