Can’t disagree…

“There’s no reason to throw at a hitter for no reason.”

– Ron Gant, Yogi-esque on SportSouth Sunday, after a Reds pitch beaned Braves 1B Mark Texeira.

  1. Steve Barton

Bottom of the eighth, Braves up 13-7. Batter up! Lead off hitter Kotsay homers for the fourteenth run…then Chipper doubles…and then Tex comes to the plate and gets plunked. Maybe there was a reason.

A coincidence. Your take on Ron Gant is right on and I enjoy his unpolished enthusiasm; and here is the lead to the MLB.com story by Jon Cooper on today’s game:

    “ATLANTA — Crazy.

That’s about the best way to describe Sunday afternoon’s series finale between the Braves and Reds, won by Atlanta, 14-7.

It’s the kind of game that could — and probably did — inspire Yogi Berra to come up with some of his ‘Yogisms.'”

** but maybe Cooper wasn’t in the ballpark and instead was listening to Ron Gant like you and me.
